HISTORY: RUNNERS who inhabit SENTINEL SHELLS tend to be engineers and tinkerers with a soft spot for gadgets and technology. Their underlying SHELL weave and gear set are built around stolen UESC infantry kits to provide base combat functionality for added survivability in support of their device-driven utility.
The first registered appearance of SENTINEL operations was in the Trenchway Holdout beneath Antarctica, in Earth's southernmost hemisphere. A crew of radical research scientists in hijacked UESC SHELLS survived a three-month siege by the UESC Central Security Agency as they ran unsanctioned substrata experiments tied to unregistered energy patterns within the planet's core. SENTINEL TACTICAL ABILITY: SNARE MINE

OVERVIEW: The SNARE MINE is a handheld proximity-triggered detonation device placed as needed to act as a countermeasure against enemy threats. When tripped, a SNARE MINE unleashes a series of submunitions into the air causing secondary detonations that immobilize any hostiles caught in the blast.
The SNARE MINE can be placed on most surfaces, allowing the user to set their trap as needed to provide strategic coverage.

HISTORY: SNARE MINES are an evolution of larger scale munitions originally developed for mining operations. SENTINEL PRIME ABILITY: DEFENDER SYSTEM

OVERVIEW: The DEFENDER SYSTEM is a portable area defense device designed to identify, target, and eliminate incoming explosive ordinance. Once thrown, a DEFENDER SYSTEM will settle into position and remain active until its counter-munitions are spent. RUNNERS within its protective radius are shielded from hostile ordinance as long the DS is active.
OPERATION:

• Watch your enemies waste their ordinance
• NOTE: The DEFENDER SYSTEM will not stop bullets
HISTORY: DEFENDER SYSTEMS are military-grade tech kit-based by RUNNERS to expand their effectiveness against a variety of RUNNER-used explosive devices, including fragmentation, chemical, static, heat, shrapnel, and other handheld ordinance. But SENTINELS have gone further in tuning the DS to counter RUNNER aggression.
